Gee, I bet you didn't put the original signs in a yard.

Why do they continue to call them yard signs when most of the signs go to pollute the roadways.

Of all the candidates I have only seen Paddock, GiaQuinta, Fries and Kessler in real yards.

Explain why Marla Irving has lost 750 signs. Wind? Nope. Some witnesses have seen a brown car. They come by in the middle of the night and swipe her signs by the hundreds.

Very disgusting politics. Bill Brown should campaign on real issues, and pray that this doesn't become public.

What exactly does Brown want to do anyway? He just appeals to the people that dislike Marla for whatever reason, such as her principled positions on real issues.

As a 2nd district voter, I will not vote for Brown unless I learn of one logical reason to. Dirty politics makes me sick.

In a primary any candidate has the right to use the road-right-of-way to place a political campaign sign. They have 72 hours after the end of the primary to remove their signs. If they win the primary, they are allowed to keep their signs up.

As for littering the road, much of the littering would be reduced if people left the signs in place.

It is a real dilemma as to how to run a campaign. Many do not like the amount of money spent. Others hate the 30-second sound bites for TV and Radio. Still others hate the mail and phone calls. If you rely on the paper for your information, then you will only get filtered information if at all. We want free elections, but what is the best way to get name recognition?

Congratulations to the Journal Gazette for finally acknowledging that Bill Brown is a democrat and for consolidation. And shame on Bill Brown for putting his signs in front of businesses that do not choose to support him nor do they even like his single-minded position of selling out our community.

My commentary was solely about the Taviano and Hayhurst signs. They are truly made of inferior materials. My street gets HEAVY wind, even when it doesn't seem that windy outside and my William Larsen sign is intact and upright. I can assure you, the "trash-bag-on-a-stick" signs of Taviano and Hayhurst wouldn't last an afternoon in my yard...and that has nothing to do with my personal political position.

Of course, the Taviano supporter commenting would call him or herself a "city voter."
Taviano wants to turn the Sheriff's department over to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

No, I haven't heard Taviano say that. I HAVE heard her say that the Sheriff and FWPD should work together, and that 911 should be merged (with oversight by the sheriff, city police, county fire departments. Not quite the same thing, anonymous.

And by the way, for the record, I'm a county taxpayer, too.

Bill Brown's politics is so disgusting. Irving has lost 750 SIGNS, and witnesses have seen with their own eyes a brown car, among others that come by in the middle of the night, and sometimes in the morning.

He wants to sell out fort wayne to his business friends, which is why they support him.

If he had to run for something it should be city council. He lives in the city.

I am sick of this man, and his mafia like endeavors. The Journal Gazette seems to like it though,..

The whole notion that yard signs for Tina Taviano were all removed due to the weather is preposterous. My brother's father-in-law is a conservative Republican and yet he observed a vehicle going down Rothman Road around 9:45p.m. Friday night (4/14)which was making frequent stops in order for one person to get out and grab the Taviano signs. The minute he honked at the vehicle it took off like a shot. Now does this man support Tina Taviano? No, he doesnt, but he does believe in fairness and in letting voters make choices for themselves, not having someone else play dirty politics.

There is also an instance of a women with property that faces Coldwater Road out in Huntertown. She observed over the weekend that her Taviano sign had been removed from her property. My brother also had his Taviano sign pulled up out of his yard last night too.

There have also been comments made about signs for Mike Joyner disappearing as well. The disappearance of all these signs, especially in a law enforcement race, is especially troubling.

This kind of behavior was also witnessed out around the Dupont area a week ago where numerous Hayhurst and Taviano signs were pulled up and thrown down at the side of the road.

In a democracy, the goal is to let the voters decide based on the merit of the candidates. This vandalism must stop.

If indeed there are people pulling signs, I think I have a pretty good guess who is (ultimately) behind the pilfering...but it's not who most people think it is.

Well Mr./Mrs. Anonymous,

If my brother-in-law's wife's step-sister's 2nd-cousin (once removed) saw such shenanigans taking place, I would hope that she would call the authorities with a license plate number and description of the vehicle instead of honking their anonymous horn.

I'll will pay your third-party tale more creedence than my personal, first-hand observations when they have someone in handcuffs for stealing signs. Until then, the EYES have it.
