My Thoughts on the New Phone Poll

FWOb noted today that there is a phone poll asking people their position for the upcoming Republican Primary for mayor. Mitch also mentions that they were asking about Sam Talarico Jr and Paula Hughes.

I've heard many theories as to why the latter names were added. The one I haven't heard yet is probably the most obvious one. Both Sam and Paula are high profile people involved with the Harrison Square project.

The JG's latest poll on the stadium issue shows that it is unpopular. The phone poll is probably trying to gauge support for the candidates in relation to that issue by looking at the popularity of elected officials most associated with it.

Or the GOP is still looking for a candidate they can get behind.

Kelty and Peters are NOT exciting their bases.

Thanks for that comment, Mr. Knuth.

You are so predictable and reactionary. I suggest you get busy with your lack of candidates. Time is running out for you.

That is one opinion.

Many of us think Nelson Peters would make a great Mayor!

Nelson Peters has experience at the City and County level, is a strong leader, good business man and comes through for us when we ask for assistance. He is visionary, tough and practical. That is a rare combination, and he will make us a great Mayor.

Nelson Peters will make a great mayor. He is uniquely qualified.

Master of Public Affairs (IU)

City Personnel/HR Director
County Personnel/HR Director
County Council
County Commissioner
Private sector business and management experience
Adjunct professor at Indiana University-Purdue University and Concordia University (etc.)

What more do we need for one to lead the city in economic growth, strategic management, and leadership.

Oh, and he is a good Christian man that is a straight shooter!

There are so many important issues this year that can make or break this city. We really need someone with the experience and leadership that Nelson provides. There is no on-the-job training for Mayor. This city needs someone with guts to get this city moving forward. He's a good guy who stands up for what he believes in. Not what others want to hear him say.

What side of the fence does Nelson sit on. Do you listen how he talks out both sides of his mouth?
